An Introduction

I read somewhere that the first blog post of any blog should be an introduction of the blogger plus a brief overview of what the blog will be about.

Obviously, that didn’t happen here LOL.
Oh well, Better late than never right? So let me start over.
Hi. My name is Roen. That is not my real name.

I’m 20-something from somewhere on earth.

I like Japanese anime and manga, cosplay, food, classic novels, psychological tests, crayola, lemon milk tea (cold), make-up, clothes, the smell of Marlboro black, popcorn, young-adult and general fiction, dogs, cats, cooking, flea markets and sleep.

I love sleep.

I started this blog out of boredom and also as a way for me to practice my increasingly deteriorating writing skills. You’d probably end up seeing a lot of random crap on this blog but I’d probably do a couple of anime or manga reviews every now and then. Well, I call them “reviews” but the are really more like my twisted perception of a certain anime or manga (see previous post as an example)

Anyway, that’s it for now.

Straight through the Kokoro: A Sukitte Iinayo anime review (spoiler alert)

Sukitte Iinayo or “Say I love you” is an adaptation of the hit manga by Kanae Hazuki which was Aired last Oct 6, 2012.
The story revolved around Tachibana Mei, a girl of 16 years who is determined to spend her high school life friendless due to an incident that happened when she was young wherein she gets blamed for the death of the class rabbit. She views friends people who stick with you only for convenience. All this changes though, when Kurusawa Yamato, the most popular boy in school becomes interested in her.

After watching the first episode of this anime, all I could say was Daaaamn! Someone get me a cardiac monitor!  KYAAA~~~

But seriously.
The lot of you might be thinking  “the popular boys always go for the anti-social girls” or “this plot is so Kimi ni Todoke“. Well, you’re probably right. There are a ton of anime and manga that have the same plot but I think it’s only natural that a popular boy chooses a loner girl. A guy like Yamato is surrounded by squealing fangirls most of his high school life that his eardrums must be shot from their spazzing. Anyone would want a quiet Mei after all that, right?

As for the comparison to Kimi ni Todoke, OH COME ON!  Yamato kissed Mei on the first episode! It took KAZEHAYA 71 EFFIN’ CHAPTERS TO GET THERE.

Either way,This anime is off to a good start and I’ve got a feeling that it will be one of the top anime this winter season.
